Sherpa
Advocacy and Litigation Officer
Paris
Lucie Chatelain is an Advocacy and Litigation Officer in Sherpa's Globalisation and Human Rights Programme.
Sherpa is a French non-governmental organisation which aims to defend victims of economic crimes and fight against new forms of impunity linked to globalisation - through legal innovation, strategic litigation, advocacy and capacity-building.
Lucie Chatelain holds a master’s degree in economic law from Sciences Po Paris and a LL.M. in international law from the University of Cambridge.
She started her career as an associate lawyer in a Paris-based law firm, where she specialised in international dispute settlement, including international investment and commercial arbitration. She also took pro bono work relating to international human rights protection and United Nations treaty bodies.
She then joined the team of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders, while volunteering with several organisations involved in the defence of migrants’ rights.
At Sherpa, Lucie is in charge of various projects related to corporate accountability for human rights and environmental abuses. She currently leads several strategic litigation cases brought by the organisation, and works on the implementation of the French law on the duty of vigilance.
