Gerry Cunningham is the Director of the Human Rights Unit at the Department of Foreign Affairs. The Human Rights Unit provides the Secretariat to the multi-stakeholder implementation group supporting Ireland’s first National Plan on Business and Human Rights. Gerry was previously Irish  Ambassador to Malawi from 2017-2020 and has previously served as Deputy Head of Mission in Zambia, following earlier postings in Tanzania.
