Arnold manages the Business and Human rights program at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria (the Centre) and also oversees the work of the African Coalition for Corporate Accountability (ACCA) which is hosted by the Centre. He is a Human Rights Advocate and an academic with over 11 years’ experience working on forced migration issues, gender and sexuality, transitional justice and corporate accountability. For the last 6 years, Arnold has focused his work around the subject of business and human rights and corporate accountability—contextualizing the effect and impact of corporate activities on the realisation of human rights. He was instrumental as a member of a multi sectoral steering committee that developed Uganda’s National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights. Currently Arnold is engaged in continental discussions around the evolvement and effectiveness of mHRDD mechanisms against weak policy and legal frameworks on business and human rights.
